Salary: $120,000–$200,000 per year

What you will do
- Architect, configure, evaluate, and validate ARM/x86 embedded compute platforms and single-board computers for robotic applications.
- Set up and customize Linux environments including Ubuntu, Yocto, and JetPack, along with ROS middleware and I/O interfaces.
- Integrate compute systems with LiDAR, cameras, TOF, IMUs, GPS, and other robotic sensors and peripherals.
- Develop firmware, device drivers, ROS nodes, data acquisition pipelines, configuration files, launch scripts, and firmware update workflows.
- Perform system-level testing including thermal profiling, latency measurement, power analysis, and compute performance monitoring.
- Support production, vendor procurement, incoming-unit QA, payload scaling, and root-cause analysis for boot, connectivity, and throughput issues.
Requirements
- B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in Computer Engineering, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with embedded platforms such as Jetson, Raspberry Pi, x86 NUCs, or custom SBCs.
- Proficiency with Linux system configuration, scripting, and headless deployment tools.
- Strong firmware development skills for microcontrollers in bare-metal and RTOS environments.
- Proficiency in C++ and Python, with experience using USB, Ethernet, I²C, SPI, CAN, GMSL, or similar interfaces.
- Familiarity with ROS, device drivers, TF, data streaming, hardware/software debugging, and diagnosis across compute, thermal, timing, and I/O layers.
Nice to have
- Experience scaling systems from prototype to large-scale production.
- Experience developing robotics systems for harsh field environments or real-world deployment.
- Experience with autonomous vehicles, drones, ruggedized robots, or other deployed robotic systems.
- Fluency across software, electrical, and mechanical systems, plus knowledge of robotics autonomy stacks.
