TL;DR

Focus on debugging cross-system hardware and software issues, profiling end-to-end performance, tuning control behavior, and building robust integration infrastructure for real-world robotic platforms.

What you will do

  • Bring up and integrate new legged, wheeled-legged, wheeled, and humanoid robotic platforms into the software stack.
  • Develop and maintain robot drivers and interfaces covering sensing, state, commands, actuation, and control.
  • Build software components for calibration, timing, diagnostics, observability, and reliable communication between onboard compute, sensors, actuators, and autonomy software.
  • Debug issues across software, networking, hardware communication, and system configuration boundaries.
  • Profile end-to-end performance, analyze telemetry, and tune control strategies to improve stability, responsiveness, motion quality, and controllability.
  • Collaborate with hardware and software platform teams on robot bring-up, validation, deployment tooling, testing, and long-term platform support.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Robotics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field, or a bachelor’s degree with relevant hands-on robotic systems experience.
  • Strong software engineering skills in C++ and/or Python in Linux-based environments.
  • Hands-on experience with real robotic systems and integration or debugging of one or more robotic platforms.
  • Familiarity with ROS, ROS 2, or similar distributed robotics middleware.
  • Understanding of sensing, state estimation, actuation, and control interfaces.
  • Ability to debug networking, timing, hardware communication, software integration, electronics, and mechanical interface issues.

Nice to have

  • Experience with robot drivers, SDK integrations, or hardware abstraction layers.
  • Knowledge of CAN, EtherCAT, serial, UDP/TCP, or similar communication protocols.
  • Experience with control tuning, performance profiling, calibration, synchronization, diagnostics, simulation, hardware-in-the-loop testing, or regression pipelines.
  • Experience supporting robot bring-up from early integration through production-quality reliability.
