Senior Software Engineer, Applied AI

Location: Hybrid role targeting talent in the San Diego/Encinitas area, local to or willing to relocate to hirify.global’s San Diego headquarters

Salary: $159,000–$178,000 per year, plus equity and benefits

What you will do

• Embed with business and operational teams to identify workflows where AI can deliver measurable impact.
• Design and build AI agents, copilots, intelligent automations, and conversational experiences using LLMs, RAG, tool calling, and agentic patterns.
• Connect AI capabilities to Snowflake, operational databases, APIs, and internal platforms with evaluation, observability, security, and feedback loops.
• Own solutions from discovery and prototyping through production delivery, rollout, reliability, adoption, and iteration.
• Partner with Platform Ops and business leaders on workflow redesign, training, enablement, and change management.
• Measure business outcomes and create reusable integrations, evaluations, components, and delivery playbooks.

Requirements

• 3–5+ years of software engineering experience, including at least 1 year delivering applied AI, ML, or intelligent automation in production.
• Hands-on experience with LLMs such as OpenAI, Anthropic, or Gemini, including prompt engineering, RAG, function and tool calling, evaluations, and agentic patterns.
• Strong software engineering and system design fundamentals with a record of shipping reliable production applications.
• Strong Python skills and experience with APIs, data pipelines, integrations, and cloud-based application architectures.
• Experience with Git, GitHub workflows, CI/CD, observability, and modern development practices.
• Must be local to or willing to relocate to the San Diego area and work in a hybrid model.

Nice to have

• Experience working directly with customers or internal business teams in ambiguous problem spaces.
• Experience with LangChain, LangGraph, CrewAI, workflow orchestration, or agentic process automation platforms.
• Familiarity with enterprise AI and copilot platforms such as Glean or Claude Cowork.
• Experience in logistics, freight, or other operations-heavy industries.
