Senior AI Engineer (Agent Factory)

Location: Boulder, Colorado, United States; hybrid work with at least 50% of each quarter spent in the office or in the field

Annual base salary: $186,000–$278,000 USD for Boulder; additional US locations offer $176,000–$312,000 USD.

What you will do

• Design, implement, and integrate end-to-end systems for intelligent agents embedded in hirify.global’s enterprise platform.
• Orchestrate complex agentic workflows, including multi-agent frameworks, routing layers, and retrieval-augmented generation pipelines.
• Integrate large language models and foundation models into scalable, user-facing enterprise products.
• Implement responsible AI controls, including data privacy, security guardrails, predictability, explainability, and evaluation mechanisms.
• Optimize systems for latency, cost, context-window efficiency, reliability, and user experience.
• Lead engineering workstreams, own the development lifecycle, and mentor junior-to-mid-level engineers.

Requirements

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience with backend architecture, distributed systems, and API design, including production-grade LLM or agentic systems experience; or 5+ years in machine learning engineering or AI application development with experience shipping LLM-backed products.
• At least 2 years of hands-on experience integrating LLMs, foundation models, and modern AI APIs into enterprise products.
• At least 1 year designing and scaling AI orchestration architectures, such as multi-agent frameworks, routing layers, or advanced RAG pipelines.
• Experience optimizing application performance and modern LLM constraints, including API latency, token management, cost optimization, and context-window efficiency.
• At least 4 years deploying scalable systems on cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or an equivalent technical field; a master’s degree is preferred.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Experience benchmarking model outputs, prototyping rapidly, and creating automated evaluation metrics for retrieval quality and agentic behavior.
