Senior Software Engineer (AI)

Location: Fully remote for candidates in most locations across the United States, Ontario, or British Columbia, Canada. In-person company or team offsites are generally expected 1–2 times per year, with exceptions considered.

Salary: $130,000–$180,000 USD annually in the United States; $140,000–$190,000 CAD annually in Canada.

What you will do

• Design, build, maintain, and extend products and features that solve customer problems.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, and Engineering to validate customer needs and technical approaches.
• Prototype solutions, test assumptions, and iterate ideas into production-ready systems.
• Deliver incremental value by managing dependencies, breaking down work, and demonstrating progress.
• Communicate technical trade-offs, present system designs, and document architectural decisions.
• Improve system quality and team effectiveness through modern engineering practices, code reviews, pairing, and retrospectives.

Requirements

• 5+ years of relevant software engineering experience.
• Experience building scalable cloud-based services and real-time data processing systems.
• Strong full-stack skills with Java, Python, or Node/JavaScript and modern frontend development; Vue.js experience is a plus.
• Experience building and consuming APIs, using SQL and non-relational databases, and making data modeling decisions.
• Experience with cloud-native architectures and services; AWS is preferred.
• Must be eligible to work from most locations across the United States, Ontario, or British Columbia, Canada; visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• Experience with Vue.js or another major MV* framework.
• Experience applying modern AI tools to accelerate development and improve quality.
