Senior AI Engineer (Agentic AI)

Location: San Francisco, hybrid, with occasional travel for team meets, offsites, or customer engagements

Salary: $170,000–$190,000 base salary per year, plus equity and bonus opportunities

hirify.global is building an AI-powered demand intelligence platform that uses agentic systems to orchestrate multi-step inference across complex enterprise data.

What you will do

• Own the evaluation layer for production agents, including harnesses, metrics, golden datasets, regression gates, and human-in-the-loop review.
• Architect and implement agent workflows with LangChain, LangGraph, or equivalent frameworks.
• Own AI systems from experimentation through production, including tracing, monitoring, latency, cost-per-task budgeting, and on-call responsibilities.
• Diagnose hallucinations, tool misuse, retrieval misses, and silent degradation, turning failures into durable fixes and tests.
• Develop retrieval strategies combining RAG, graph-based retrieval, ranking, grounding, and other approaches.
• Set technical standards for agent systems and communicate architecture decisions and tradeoffs across the company.

Requirements

• 6+ years of production software engineering experience with APIs, services, or data infrastructure.
• 2+ years building LLM or agent systems used by real users in production.
• Hands-on experience with LangChain, LangGraph, or equivalent agent and orchestration frameworks.
• Experience with testing, CI/CD, production operations, and on-call responsibilities.
• Strong technical communication, ownership, and ability to work effectively in ambiguous, fast-changing environments.
• Ability to work in a hybrid role based in San Francisco

Nice to have

• Deep experience with retrieval-augmented generation, hybrid retrieval, graph retrieval, chunking, embeddings, ranking, and grounding.
• Experience with Langfuse, OpenTelemetry, or equivalent observability tools for LLM systems.
• Experience with MCP, tool-calling frameworks, structured output, or constrained decoding.
• Early-stage startup or high-growth company experience.
