Senior AI Engineer

Location: NYC-Metro; hybrid

Base compensation: $170,000–$210,000 annually, plus annual bonus and equity

What you will do

• Design and deploy LLM-powered agents using prompt engineering, tool use, orchestration logic, RAG, and system evaluation.
• Build multi-agent systems that automate complex credit workflows and support traceable, inspectable outputs.
• Partner with technical and non-technical stakeholders at major credit firms to identify workflow problems and co-develop AI solutions tied to ROI.
• Architect and maintain backend systems and APIs connecting data sources and customer platforms, ensuring availability, performance, and observability.
• Optimize agentic systems across accuracy, latency, reliability, cost, and explainability.
• Shape reusable agent-deployment infrastructure, engineering standards, hiring practices, and the technical roadmap.

Requirements

• 6–10+ years of software engineering experience.
• 1–2+ years of hands-on experience building LLM-based agents and/or RAG systems in production.
• Experience with multi-agent orchestration, agent handoffs, RAG, vector database routing, LLM optimization, and evaluation or guardrail frameworks.
• Proficiency in Python and experience with modern AI/ML frameworks, cloud infrastructure, and APIs; GCP is preferred.
• Strong judgment in system architecture, performance, and scaling, with clear communication in ambiguous, high-stakes environments.
• Ability to work in the NYC-Metro hybrid setup.

Nice to have

• Experience with human-in-the-loop systems, feedback loops, and long-horizon agentic task execution.
• Background in financial systems, risk modeling, or decision automation.
• Familiarity with PydanticAI, LlamaIndex, Google ADK, Claude Agent SDK, or similar frameworks.
• Experience building internal AI platforms or reusable LLM tooling.
