Systems Engineering Manager (ATM)

Location: Melbourne, Australia; hybrid work from home and office may be considered, including a 9-day fortnight. Applicants must be Australian citizens and hold or be able to obtain Australian Defence Security Clearance.

What you will do

• Lead resource planning and scheduling for core and matrixed engineering teams across the ATM program.
• Manage the program functional and allocated baselines, including non-product design decisions and configuration control.
• Coordinate technical standards, systems engineering processes, and management plans to meet safety, security, and quality objectives.
• Manage and escalate scope, cost, quality, resource, schedule, and technical risks.
• Analyse engineering changes, develop estimates, and manage allocated work packages as Cost Account Manager.
• Facilitate Technical Working Group meetings and collaborate with system engineers, project managers, program engineering managers, and customers.

Requirements

• Relevant bachelor’s or master’s degree, or equivalent experience, in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, or a related discipline.
• At least 15 years of engineering experience, including 10 years applying systems engineering principles to Air Traffic Management projects.
• At least 5 years in a technical management role involving strategic management and resource planning for complex projects.
• Experience with ATM system design, integration, supportability, operational safety, Integrated Logistics Support, and human factors.
• Competence applying Australian Government Information Security Manual controls to system design.
• Australian citizenship and Australian Defence Security Clearance eligibility are required; Queensland or Victoria engineering registration is also required.

Nice to have

• Defence industry experience.
• Engineers Australia CPEng, INCOSE ASEP, CSEP, or ESEP certification.
• Chartered engineering status.
