Senior Business Intelligence Engineer

Location: Remote nationwide within the United States; occasional travel to hirify.global offices may be required for training or meetings. Work requires a dedicated space that protects member PHI/HIPAA information and internet service with at least 25 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload speeds.

Salary: $89,000–$121,400 per year, plus eligibility for a bonus incentive plan.

What you will do

• Build, maintain, and monitor ETL processes, data pipelines, and scheduled jobs in Azure Databricks.
• Integrate data from multiple sources while maintaining data accuracy and integrity.
• Develop dashboards, reports, and other data resources for end users.
• Tune Spark jobs and SQL queries to improve performance and control costs.
• Troubleshoot pipeline failures, optimize resource usage, and automate manual processes.
• Translate business requests into report specifications and advise partners on technical options.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of technical experience in business intelligence or data engineering.
• Hands-on Azure Databricks experience, including notebook development with PySpark.
• Experience optimizing Spark jobs and SQL queries for performance and cost efficiency.
• Ability to troubleshoot data pipeline failures and improve resource utilization.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Must be able to work remotely within the United States.

Nice to have

• SQL Server and SSIS project development using Microsoft Visual Studio.
• Experience with healthcare systems and prior authorization data.
• Experience with change management in a large enterprise environment.
• Experience with enterprise scheduling systems.
