Director, Asset Management (BESS)

What you will do

• Oversee BESS performance, reliability, compliance, and commercial results throughout the asset lifecycle.
• Manage ERCOT, NERC, and local regulatory compliance, including registrations, testing, reporting, and audit records.
• Coordinate with utilities, QSEs, offtake partners, service providers, and internal stakeholders to validate revenues, costs, invoices, and forecasts.
• Plan preventive and corrective maintenance, manage warranties and service agreements, and document O&M activities.
• Monitor assets through EMS and SCADA systems, identify anomalies, and coordinate corrective actions with field and OEM teams.
• Support the transition from construction to operations and act as the primary contact for asset-related issues.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Energy, Business, or a related field.
• 9+ years of experience in energy-sector asset management, operations, or performance monitoring; BESS or renewable energy experience is preferred.
• 3+ years of experience managing NERC Bulk Electric System compliance activities.
• Strong knowledge of energy storage project finance, commercial operations, data analysis, financial modeling, and performance reporting.
• Working knowledge of SCADA and EMS systems, plus familiarity with ISO markets such as ERCOT, CAISO, and PJM.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 25% and successfully pass a pre-employment background check.
