Senior Director, Global Portfolio Management (Biopharma)

Location: Hybrid work arrangement based in Waltham, Massachusetts, United States

Salary: $200,000–$250,000 per year

What you will do

• Define the global Biopharma portfolio strategy and maintain a 3–5 year roadmap aligned with customer workflows, market opportunities, competition, and company strategy.
• Translate customer insights, scientific trends, market intelligence, and commercial data into portfolio priorities and investment recommendations.
• Lead and develop a global team of product managers and portfolio leaders while establishing operating standards, dashboards, and decision frameworks.
• Connect instruments, consumables, applications, software, service, and data into differentiated workflow and platform solutions.
• Partner with R&D, Program Management, Commercial, Marketing, Applications, Service, Finance, and regional teams on development, launches, pricing, and lifecycle decisions.
• Drive portfolio profitability, lifecycle governance, product rationalization, and inorganic growth initiatives including acquisitions, partnerships, OEM opportunities, and technology licensing.

Requirements

• 12–15+ years of progressive experience in product management, portfolio management, strategic marketing, commercial leadership, or general management within life sciences tools, bioprocessing, diagnostics, biotechnology, or related scientific technology markets.
• Experience leading product managers, portfolio leaders, or cross-functional product teams and owning a complex global portfolio.
• Strong understanding of life science customer workflows and experience connecting product strategy to revenue, margin, market share, pricing, launches, and lifecycle outcomes.
• Experience collaborating with R&D, Commercial, Marketing, Applications, Operations, Quality, Regulatory, and Finance teams in a global matrixed organization.
• Strong executive communication, customer orientation, and experience engaging strategic accounts, key opinion leaders, and technical decision-makers.
• Advanced degree in life sciences, engineering, biotechnology, chemistry, or a related scientific field preferred; MBA or equivalent business experience valued.

Nice to have

• Experience in bioprocessing, biologics manufacturing, cell line development, process analytics, upstream bioprocessing, formulation, quality control, or cell and gene therapy workflows.
• Experience with instrument, consumable, and software portfolios; workflow or platform strategy across multiple product lines.
• Experience with global product launches, stage-gate development, portfolio rationalization, lifecycle management, and pricing strategy.
• Experience supporting M&A diligence, partnership evaluation, OEM relationships, or acquisition integration.
