Director, Oncology AI Product & Engineering Lead (AI)

Location: United States — New York — New York City. Permanent U.S. work authorization is required; candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. by any employer. Relocation assistance may be available based on business needs and eligibility.

Annual base salary: $176,600–$294,300, plus a 20% bonus target and eligibility for a share-based long-term incentive program.

hirify.global is developing an AI-first oncology R&D engine supporting medicine discovery, development, and delivery.

What you will do

• Own the Oncology AI product strategy and roadmap across discovery, translational science, clinical development, and real-world evidence.
• Lead and coach a multidisciplinary team of AI engineers and science-focused technologists.
• Translate scientific and operational problems into AI product requirements, success metrics, and delivery plans.
• Partner with oncology scientists, clinical teams, Digital, Enterprise AI, and IT to align solutions with enterprise platforms and governance.
• Evaluate AI concepts, prototypes, and technical approaches, making informed trade-off decisions.
• Drive workflow automation, stakeholder adoption, governance, delivery standards, and value tracking beyond pilot projects.

Requirements

• PhD with at least 5 years of applied analytical experience, or Master’s degree with at least 7 years of applied analytical experience, in computer science, machine learning, data science, software engineering, AI, or a related discipline.
• Demonstrated impact leading AI-enabled products, platforms, or analytics solutions in pharma, biotech, healthcare technology, or AI startups.
• Strong understanding of oncology R&D workflows and the use of data and AI in scientific and clinical decision-making.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary technical teams in a matrixed environment.
• Strong technical fluency for evaluating AI/ML approaches without hands-on coding, together with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• U.S. work authorization is required, and visa sponsorship is not available now or in the future.

Nice to have

• Experience at the intersection of science, product management, and engineering.
• Familiarity with data pipelines, model development, and prototyping workflows.
• Experience scaling AI solutions in large, regulated organizations.
