Software Engineer (Python)

Location: Spain-based; hybrid in Malaga and remote from the rest of Spain

What you will do

• Design and implement platform components that connect the payment provider with banks across Europe.
• Develop payment initiation and authentication capabilities using open banking technology.
• Build a scalable, secure, and high-performance framework supporting millions of users.
• Collaborate with developers and architects on distributed and service-oriented systems.
• Optimize performance and reliability for transaction-intensive real-time payment systems.

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on software development experience with deep expertise in Python.
• Experience with AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.
• Strong understanding of distributed architectures and service-oriented systems.
• Computer Science degree or related education, or equivalent practical experience.
• Must be based in Spain for the remote model or work in the Malaga office under the hybrid model.

Nice to have

• Team leadership experience.
• Experience with Open Banking, PSD2, financial integrations, or real-time payment solutions.
• Knowledge of encryption techniques and security best practices.
• Experience with highly scalable, transaction-intensive systems.
