Senior Software Engineer (Python)

Location: London, UK / Remote within the UK. Hybrid workplace.

What you will do

• Design and build robust APIs integrating internal and third-party services.
• Architect and evolve performant, scalable backend systems and data models.
• Work across relational and NoSQL data sources to create expressive, well-structured schemas.
• Contribute to frontend applications and collaborate with cross-functional product and engineering teams.
• Take ownership of features from inception through delivery while maintaining high-quality, maintainable code.
• Share knowledge, mentor colleagues, and contribute ideas that improve engineering practices.

Requirements

• Deep expertise in Python and strong software engineering fundamentals.
• Proven experience designing and building APIs, ideally with GraphQL.
• Experience with PostgreSQL, NoSQL databases, and multiple data sources.
• Strong understanding of software engineering principles and experience building robust, scalable, maintainable systems.
• Experience collaborating across teams and disciplines, with ownership of features through delivery.
• Experience using AI technology and tooling to augment development.

Nice to have

• Frontend experience with React, TypeScript, and Next.js.
• Experience with event-driven architecture and systems.
• Production experience with AI technology and tooling.
