Location: Onsite at the Salem, Oregon facility, with up to 20% travel to customer sites, field test locations, and suppliers. All roles are U.S.-based.
Salary: $162,000–$210,000 USD annually.

What you will do
- Lead Field Quality and Failure Analysis engineering teams and own quality, reliability, and fleet-health performance across deployed products.
- Establish field quality metrics, including failure rates, issue escape rates, fleet reliability, and service-ticket turnaround.
- Drive failure analysis, root-cause analysis, and CAPA for field returns, hardware defects, and system-level failures.
- Develop rapid containment protocols for safety events, critical escalations, and fleet-wide failure trends.
- Connect Field Operations, Customer Success, Hardware Engineering, Software/Firmware, and Supplier Quality to feed reliability improvements into product development.
- Present failure Pareto analyses, root-cause findings, and CAPA progress to executive leadership.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Systems Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 10+ years of experience in Quality Engineering, Field Quality, or Reliability Engineering in complex hardware industries.
- 5+ years of direct people-management experience leading technical engineering teams.
- Hands-on failure-analysis experience with electromechanical systems, including actuators, harnesses, sensors, PCBAs, battery-management systems, and precision mechanical linkages.
- Expertise in 8D, 5-Why, Fishbone/Ishikawa, Fault Tree Analysis, FMEA, and Gauge R&R.
- Current authorization to work in the United States is required.
Nice to have
- Master’s degree in Engineering Management or an engineering discipline.
- CQE, CRE, or Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification.
- Experience with autonomous mobile robots, humanoid robotics, or safety-critical industrial equipment.
- Familiarity with firmware diagnostic tools and telemetry analytics for remote fleet diagnostics.
