TL;DR
Engineering Field Service Technician (Robotics): Supporting the deployment, maintenance, and sustainment of uncrewed surface vessel fleets with an accent on hands-on troubleshooting across mechanical, electrical, and communications domains. Focus on ensuring vehicle readiness during testing and customer deployments, requiring extensive travel and technical expertise in maritime environments.
Location: Must be based in or able to work from San Diego, CA or North Kingstown, RI. This is an onsite/hybrid role requiring 50–75% travel.
Compensation: $100,000 – $125,000 + Equity + Bonus

What you will do
- Perform mechanical and electrical system maintenance, component replacement, and corrective actions.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot complex electrical, mechanical, and system-level issues in the field.
- Support sea trials, system tests, and operational evaluations to validate vehicle performance.
- Install new subsystems, hardware modifications, and software updates on deployed vehicles.
- Document test results, failures, and maintenance actions to improve system reliability.
- Represent the company professionally while working directly with customers and partners.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in field service, maintenance, or technical support for complex electromechanical systems.
- U.S. citizenship and eligibility to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
- Hands-on proficiency with diagnostic tools like oscilloscopes, multimeters, and serial analyzers.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and PCB schematics.
- Comfortable working in maritime environments and traveling 50–75% of the time.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Technology, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
Nice to have
- Experience with maritime, aerospace, or defense robotics.
- Knowledge of propulsion systems and electrical power distribution.
- Familiarity with CAD tools (SolidWorks) and configuration management.
- Prior experience supporting DoD customers.
