What you will do

• Design, schedule, and execute routine safety audits across physical testing environments and robot cells to ensure compliance with industrial standards.
• Own the end-to-end incident management pipeline, including documentation and analysis of mechanical anomalies and near-misses.
• Lead structured root-cause analysis (RCA) and implement Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA).
• Manage daily lab operations, including layout, organization (5S), and the upkeep of testing arenas and motion-capture volumes.
• Oversee inventory, calibration, and maintenance of specialized robotics hardware and safety gear.
• Develop and deliver mandatory safety onboarding modules and cultivate a "safety-first" culture within the engineering team.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in lab management or safety coordination within robotics, aerospace, automotive, or autonomous vehicle R&D.
• Proven experience building structured audit workflows and detailed incident documentation pipelines.
• Familiarity with OSHA or ISO robotics safety standards.
• Ability to navigate environments with complex physical hardware, multi-modal sensors, and advanced compute rigs.
• Exceptional written communication and an assertive style to enforce safety protocols.
• Must be based in San Francisco, CA.
