Manufacturing Reliability Engineer (Robotics)

Manufacturing Reliability Engineer (Robotics): Designing and owning end-to-end production test protocols and provisioning flows for autonomous robots with an accent on production quality and scalability. Location: Based in Austin, TX with 50% travel to Milwaukee, WI

What you will do

• Own end-to-end production test processes, from incoming inspection through final shipment.
• Design and operate robot provisioning flows, including imaging, firmware deployment, and configuration.
• Manage and drive improvements for key production KPIs such as First Pass Yield (FPY), cycle time, and test coverage.
• Architect and maintain automated test frameworks, harnesses, and rigs at the contract manufacturer (CM) site.
• Lead root-cause analysis (RCA) for field and production failures, coordinating corrective actions across teams.
• Act as the onsite technical authority at the CM, training operators and debugging failures on the line.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in production/test engineering for complex electro-mechanical products (robotics, medical devices, etc.).
• Proven ownership of E2E production test processes and provisioning at a contract manufacturer.
• Deep familiarity with test protocol development, fixture design, and automated test implementation.
• Strong hands-on experience with firmware provisioning and validation for sensors and compute platforms.
• Broad technical knowledge of systems integration, sensors (cameras, LiDAR, IMU), and networking.
• Must be based in Austin, TX, and able to travel to Milwaukee, WI 50% of the time.

Nice to have

• Experience with robotics stacks (ROS or equivalent) and sensor calibration.
• Familiarity with Python, pytest, LabVIEW, or similar test frameworks.
• Experience with large-fleet provisioning, device identity, and secure image signing.
