Principal Transportation Planner

Location: Nationwide Remote Office (United States)

Salary: $98,614–$167,644 per year based on full-time employment.

What you will do

• Lead state, regional, local, and national transportation planning projects and research efforts.
• Develop multimodal transportation plans, planning studies, technical assistance resources, and best-practice documentation.
• Manage project schedules and budgets while coordinating work across multiple projects and staff levels.
• Facilitate workshops and other outreach activities with clients and stakeholders.
• Lead business development initiatives focused on state and local clients.
• Identify industry trends, support long-term growth planning, and participate in recruiting new hires.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in urban planning, public policy, economics, environmental science, transportation or civil engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• 10+ years of experience in transportation planning, policy, environmental issues, economics, or asset management.
• Experience with state, regional, or local transportation plans or policy issues, especially in Mid-Atlantic or Southeastern states.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Proven business development capabilities and the ability to collaborate with project teams and clients.

Nice to have

• 3+ years of experience leading business development initiatives in a consulting environment.
