Plant Helper (District Energy)

What you will do

• Assist with installing, repairing, troubleshooting, controlling, and maintaining boilers, steam turbines, valves, pumps, piping, and distribution systems.
• Monitor equipment pressure and temperatures, maintain operating logs, and identify abnormal conditions.
• Perform inspections, predictive and preventive maintenance, repairs, and equipment testing.
• Prepare work permits and work orders and follow established lockout/tagout procedures.
• Maintain plant cleanliness, operational efficiency, reliability, and compliance with safety procedures.
• Work rotating shifts that include nights, weekends, and holidays.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least one year of experience in maintenance or an industrial work environment.
• Ability to meet strict punctuality and attendance requirements.
• Valid driver's license and a driving record that meets company standards.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment physical exam and drug screening and qualify to wear a respirator.
• Ability to work around confined spaces, temperature extremes, high noise, high-pressure steam lines, rotating equipment, and dusty or dirty environments; lift up to 50 pounds and maneuver approximately 100 pounds.

Nice to have

• Military experience.
• Technical trade school training.
• Basic industrial or mechanical process knowledge.
• Ability to use a computer and calculator.
