TL;DR
Impact Evidence Coordinator (Research Impact/REF 2029): Coordinating evidence gathering and evaluation activities to support the University's REF 2029 impact case studies with an accent on evidence verification, stakeholder engagement, and compliant data management. Focus on analysing qualitative and quantitative data, designing surveys and interviews, and building robust evidence bases aligned with REF criteria.

Location: Hybrid, contractually aligned to the Milton Keynes campus with at least 1 day per week in the office; occasional travel to external locations may be required.

Salary: £32,080–£33,002 per year

What you will do

  • Coordinate and conduct impact evidence gathering and evaluation activities supporting REF 2029 preparations.
  • Maintain accurate, auditable records of impact evidence, evaluations, stakeholder feedback, and case study materials.
  • Conduct literature and database searches, monitor external sources, and identify emerging research impact evidence.
  • Design and conduct surveys, questionnaires, interviews, and other feedback activities.
  • Analyse qualitative and quantitative data to assess outcomes and support impact case study development.
  • Advise case study leads and contributors, maintain project documentation, and contribute to policies, guidance, and team coordination.

Requirements

  • Degree-level qualification or equivalent relevant professional experience.
  • Experience conducting literature and database searches and analysing qualitative and quantitative data.
  • Operational, administrative, or secretarial experience with strong organisational and planning skills.
  • Ability to solve problems, make timely decisions, build relationships, communicate effectively, and influence others.
  • Ability and willingness to motivate and manage others and contribute to collaborative working.
  • Proficiency with IT systems and willingness to develop relevant technical skills; evidence collection must comply with GDPR and data protection requirements.

Nice to have

  • Postgraduate degree.
  • Awareness of research impact and experience supporting REF Impact Case Studies.
  • Experience or interest in STEM-related research, citizen science, or participatory research approaches.
