Design Engineer (Creo)

Design Engineer (Creo): Developing and updating detailed mechanical designs, models, drawings, and assemblies for complex accelerator systems with an accent on manufacturability, GD&T, configuration management, and pressure-system requirements. Focus on resolving design issues, supporting fabrication and assembly, and maintaining compliant engineering documentation across the product lifecycle.

Location: Remote within the United States; United States citizenship is required.

Salary: $105,000–$145,000 USD per year, plus performance-based bonuses.

What you will do

• Update mechanical designs, 3D models, drawings, and assemblies in Creo as project requirements evolve.
• Maintain engineering documentation, revisions, and released designs in Windchill PLM.
• Apply GD&T and Design for Manufacturability principles to communicate design intent and support production.
• Collaborate with engineering, design, manufacturing, technician, and operations teams to resolve technical issues.
• Support configuration management, engineering change requests and orders, design reviews, and continuous improvement.
• Assist with troubleshooting, prototype updates, fabrication, assembly, and applicable ASME B31.3 pressure-safety requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Experience with Creo mechanical design and working knowledge of Windchill PLM.
• Experience applying GD&T and understanding Design for Manufacturability.
• Ability to work in a multidisciplinary engineering environment with strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• United States citizenship is required.

Nice to have

• Experience with Department of Energy or National Laboratory projects.
• Knowledge of ASME B31.3 process piping or pressure-safety requirements.
• Experience with prototype development, fabrication, advanced manufacturing, or engineering configuration management.
