Senior Data Engineer (Google Cloud Platform)

What you will do

• Design and execute migration strategies from SQL Server to GCP, including data transfer into BigQuery.
• Build, maintain, and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines on GCP.
• Orchestrate and schedule workflows with Cloud Composer.
• Develop and optimize BigQuery SQL, including schema design, performance tuning, and cost management.
• Automate migration and data-quality tasks with Python.
• Collaborate with administrators, analysts, and end-users while monitoring, debugging, testing, and improving production pipelines.

Requirements

• At least 6 years of experience in data engineering or a related field.
• Strong expertise in GCP, especially BigQuery and Cloud Composer.
• Advanced SQL skills and experience migrating from SQL Server to cloud environments.
• Proficiency in Python for scripting and automation.
• Hands-on experience migrating on-premises systems to cloud platforms.
• Fluent English at B2 level or higher and an existing legal right to work in Europe.

Nice to have

• SQL Server architecture, T-SQL, or database administration experience.
• Experience with Dataflow, Cloud Storage, Database Migration Service, or related GCP tools.
• Knowledge of data warehousing, data modeling, or Data Vault.
• Experience with Power BI and version control systems.
