Senior Data Engineer (GCP)

Location: Hybrid in Lisbon or Porto, Portugal

Salary: €28,000–€52,000 per month

What you will do

• Design and develop cloud-based data platforms and migration solutions on GCP.
• Build, schedule, monitor, and debug Cloud Composer DAGs to orchestrate data flows.
• Design BigQuery schemas and write complex SQL queries for data processing.
• Develop Python scripts for data migration, automation, transformation, and GCP API integration.
• Assess existing systems, translate business requirements into GCP-based solutions, and troubleshoot data pipeline challenges.
• Migrate databases from on-premises SQL Server environments to GCP.

Requirements

• 6–9 years of professional experience in data engineering, focused on cloud data platforms and migration projects.
• Significant experience with BigQuery, including schema design, query optimization, performance tuning, and cloud cost management.
• Strong experience with Cloud Composer and DAG orchestration in migration and integration scenarios.
• Excellent SQL and in-depth Python skills.
• Experience or strong understanding of database migration from on-premises SQL Server to GCP.
• English at B2 level and strong communication skills required.
