Quality Engineer - Frederick, MD

Location: Onsite at the production facility in Frederick, Maryland, USA.

Salary: $80,000–$90,000 total annual compensation, including base salary, variable pay when applicable, and benefits.

What you will do

• Develop, implement, and continuously improve quality policies, procedures, and the Quality Management System.
• Maintain QMS and Change Management documentation in line with ISO/AS standards and customer requirements.
• Conduct internal audits, maintain ISO registration requirements, and track quality performance metrics.
• Document non-conformities, manage corrective and preventive actions, and support root cause analysis.
• Lead cross-functional projects focused on productivity, waste reduction, quality, and safety.
• Evaluate suppliers, address supplier performance issues, and collaborate with managers and staff to ensure QMS effectiveness.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field or equivalent experience, with 2+ years in quality engineering or a related role.
• Experience with process-based auditing, root cause analysis, problem-solving, and process improvement.
• Knowledge of statistics, quality control tools, inspection methods, and formal improvement techniques such as PDCA, DMAIC, 5 Whys, RCCA, and Value Stream Mapping.
• Experience with AS9100 or a similar quality management system; ability to interpret systems and mechanical engineering drawings.
• Familiarity with CAD, FMEA, or APQP, plus proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident able to obtain an interim or final suitability determination after the required background investigation.

Nice to have

• SAP, SharePoint, or Jira experience.
• AS9100 Lead or Internal Auditor certification.
• ASQ certification such as CQE, CQM, or CQA.
• Lean Manufacturing or VoIP technology experience.
