TL;DR
Manufacturing Engineer (Medical Devices): Supporting and optimizing production of cutting-edge X-ray equipment with an accent on production troubleshooting, quality, and operational efficiency. Location: 100% onsite at the manufacturing facility in Rochester, NY, US, with core hours from 7am–4pm, Monday–Friday.

Salary: $78,300–$95,000 per year, depending on relevant experience, skills, and education.

What you will do

  • Provide hands-on technical support on assembly and test lines to diagnose production issues, reduce downtime, and maintain product quality.
  • Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions for production defects.
  • Monitor product line health with quality teams by analyzing production data and identifying trends.
  • Drive cost reduction, productivity, safety, quality, and throughput improvements using Lean and Six Sigma tools.
  • Support equipment maintenance, calibration, new product introductions, and process improvements.
  • Manage engineering changes and collaborate with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and outside vendors.

Requirements

  • Ability to work hands-on and 100% onsite in Rochester, NY, during core hours of 7am–4pm, Monday–Friday.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of relevant hands-on engineering experience; medical device manufacturing experience is preferred.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, collaboration, and task-prioritization skills.
  • Knowledge of quality expectations and compliance requirements, with the ability to learn new tools and programs quickly.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word.

Nice to have

  • Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma experience.
  • SAP or other ERP system experience.
  • CAD experience with NX, Creo, or SolidWorks.
  • Ability to read mechanical drawings and understand GD&T symbols and tolerances.
  • Experience with quality management systems, change management, DFM, FMEA, cost reduction, and productivity improvement.
