TL;DR
HR Manager (Labor Relations/Manufacturing): Leading human resources, employee relations, and workforce strategy for a unionized manufacturing facility with an accent on labor-management partnerships, compliance, and workforce effectiveness. Focus on interpreting collective bargaining agreements, resolving complex employee relations matters, guiding organizational change, and using HR metrics to support operational excellence.

Location: Vancouver, Washington, United States; primarily office-based. Occasional domestic travel of up to 10% may be required. Applicants must be authorized to work full-time in the United States without current or future sponsorship.

Annual base salary: $86,700–$123,800 USD, plus eligibility for a performance incentive of 10% of base salary.

What you will do

  • Lead labor and employee relations activities in a unionized manufacturing environment, including grievances, investigations, corrective actions, and conflict resolution.
  • Interpret and administer collective bargaining agreements while advising leaders on employment law, policies, and compliance.
  • Build effective relationships with union representatives and support labor-management discussions.
  • Lead recruitment and onboarding for hourly manufacturing employees and partner with site leadership on workforce planning.
  • Support performance management, succession planning, leadership development, change management, and culture transformation.
  • Analyze workforce metrics such as turnover, attendance, overtime, staffing, recruiting, and labor relations indicators to improve operational decisions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial Relations, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 3–5 years of progressive HR generalist or HR leadership experience.
  • Experience interpreting, administering, and applying collective bargaining agreements.
  • Strong experience in employee relations, workplace investigations, conflict resolution, and HR compliance.
  • Ability to influence leaders and employees, build trust, solve problems, and make sound decisions.
  • Full-time authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship is required.

  • Experience in a unionized manufacturing environment.
  • Experience supporting labor negotiations, grievance resolution, and labor-management committees.
  • Experience leading organizational change, culture transformation, and workforce engagement initiatives.
