Sr. Manager, Field Engineering (Telco)

Location: United States, with preferred locations in Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, New York City, and San Francisco; candidates in other locations may also be considered.

Salary: $192,100–$264,175 USD annually, depending on pay zone, plus potential bonus, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Lead two frontline managers and a Principal Solutions Architect across telecommunications business units.
• Hire, develop, coach, and scale Solutions Architecture teams and maintain a strong leadership and hiring pipeline.
• Partner with Sales and Field Engineering leaders to achieve revenue and consumption targets and drive customer success.
• Guide technical pre-sales activities, demonstrations, architectural reviews, and delivery of data-driven solutions for major telecom accounts.
• Develop repeatable industry assets and expand Databricks' telecommunications vertical across business units and global teams.
• Build strong relationships across Sales, Product Management, Engineering, Customer Success, and executive customer stakeholders.

Requirements

• 10+ years of professional experience working with technical data products such as data warehousing, big data, or machine learning.
• 5+ years architecting and delivering data-driven solutions for major telecommunications accounts.
• 5+ years building and leading technical pre-sales teams, including hiring, onboarding, enablement, and leadership development.
• Deep knowledge of the telecommunications ecosystem, network analytics and optimization, churn prevention, and industry imperatives.
• Strong understanding of Data and AI applications in telecommunications and demonstrated influence over complex, scalable architectures.
• Ability to earn the trust of engineering leaders and collaborate effectively across commercial and technical functions.
