Head of Engineering (Exchange Infrastructure)

Location: Remote; meaningful US Pacific time-zone overlap required.

hirify.global develops a blockchain-based global exchange that integrates financial-market infrastructure across chains and intermediaries.

What you will do

• Own the architecture and hands-on engineering of the hirify.global Exchange, including matching, risk, settlement, indexing, storage, APIs, SDKs, CLI tools, oracles, and infrastructure.
• Lead the engineering organization, including senior engineers and pods, while managing roadmaps, timelines, and resourcing.
• Drive product, customer, and business outcomes through rapid iteration and effective execution.
• Build engineering automation, agent infrastructure, telemetry, observability, and self-improvement loops.
• Set standards for automated testing, code review, on-call operations, incident response, correctness, and performance.
• Design team structures with executive leadership and mentor senior engineers and technical leads.

Requirements

• 8+ years of production software engineering experience, including 2+ years in a technical or engineering leadership role.
• Experience with high-throughput, low-latency, concurrent, and parallel systems.
• Deep hands-on experience with Rust, Go, Next.js/TypeScript or Node.js, and GCP.
• Strong architecture skills, including correctness, latency, throughput, and operability trade-offs.
• Exchange, trading-system, or comparable transaction-processing experience covering matching, risk, settlement, market data, APIs, SDKs, CLIs, oracles, and storage.
• Fluent written and spoken English with meaningful US Pacific overlap required.

• Experience establishing CI/CD, observability, on-call, or internal developer platforms in a fast-growing organization.
• Experience building agentic workflow tooling or engineering automation.
• Founding or early-stage startup experience.
• Open-source contributions in Rust, Go, or systems engineering.
