Software Engineer Intern

Location: Based out of Figma's San Francisco or New York hub office; start date: January 4, 2027.

Salary: $55–$55 USD per hour, plus housing stipend and travel reimbursement.

Figma develops a collaborative design platform for brainstorming, prototyping, translating designs into code, and iterating with AI.

What you will do

• Embed into an engineering team and contribute to projects aligned with team goals.
• Build, document, and maintain product features, tests, tools, or infrastructure.
• Collaborate with engineers, product managers, designers, and QA to plan features and timelines.
• Participate in peer code reviews and share technical feedback.
• Ship an internship project by the end of the program.

Requirements

• Experience writing clean code in at least one general-purpose language such as C++, JavaScript, Python, or Java.
• Solid understanding of computer science fundamentals, including data structures and algorithms.
• Experience solving technical problems through school, work, or personal projects.
• Interest in systems ranging from infrastructure to user interfaces.
• Strong communication, collaboration, curiosity, and willingness to learn from feedback.
• Availability to work from the San Francisco or New York hub office and attend in-person onboarding.
