What you will do

• Define and drive the multi-year technical roadmap for the Perception team.
• Lead architecture for object detection, tracking, segmentation, 6-DoF pose estimation, and scene understanding.
• Define interfaces between perception, motion planning, manipulation, control, and simulation systems.
• Set the sensor fusion strategy across LiDAR, structured light, RGB, and depth cameras, including calibration pipelines.
• Establish data, labeling, model training, evaluation, deployment, and real-world validation practices.
• Lead technical hiring, mentor engineers, and represent perception in cross-functional reviews and research collaborations.

Requirements

• 10+ years of software engineering experience in computer vision, robotics perception, or autonomous systems.
• Technical leadership experience at Staff or Principal level, or equivalent scope.
• Expertise in 3D computer vision, point clouds, depth estimation, stereo, structured light, multi-view geometry, or LiDAR algorithms.
• Strong machine learning foundations covering model architecture, training infrastructure, and production deployment.
• Experience with real-time perception systems and applied robotics in manufacturing, logistics, or similar environments.
• Strong C++ and Python skills, with the ability to make architectural decisions and align teams.

Nice to have

• M.S. or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Robotics, or a related field.
• Experience with multimodal calibration, temporal alignment, and uncertainty quantification.
• Edge model optimization using quantization, distillation, TensorRT, or equivalent tools.
• Publications, patents, or significant open-source contributions in computer vision, robotics perception, or machine learning.
