Research Engineer / Scientist (3D Tech Lead)

Salary: $250,000–$350,000 base salary per year, plus equity awards

What you will do

• Set the technical vision and roadmap for 3D modeling and reconstruction.
• Design and implement state-of-the-art systems covering geometry, appearance, and scene-level representations.
• Drive learning-based and optimization-based modeling approaches focused on robustness, scalability, and real-world data.
• Guide architecture for 3D representations, training pipelines, inference systems, data pipelines, and rendering platforms.
• Lead and mentor a small team of research scientists and research engineers while owning initiatives from prototypes through production deployment.
• Collaborate with research, engineering, and product partners and represent the work through publications, talks, or open-source contributions.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in 3D reconstruction, 3D modeling, computer vision, graphics, or a related field.
• Impactful contributions demonstrated through academic publications, influential open-source work, or widely deployed products.
• Deep expertise in modern 3D modeling and reconstruction, including representation design, optimization, and learning-based methods.
• Experience leading or mentoring a small team, lab, or project group with responsibility for technical direction and delivery.
• Strong Python and/or C++ programming skills, including research prototypes and production-quality systems.
• Experience with machine learning frameworks, large-scale experimentation, training pipelines, rendering, and downstream applications.
