What you will do

  • Develop and optimize point cloud processing pipelines for registration, denoising, normal estimation, segmentation, and primitive extraction.
  • Design efficient algorithms for large-scale, unstructured 3D datasets with strong memory and runtime performance.
  • Implement production-grade computational geometry and linear algebra in C++ and Python.
  • Solve reconstruction problems including loop closure, global consistency, and multi-view fusion.
  • Evaluate and integrate emerging 3D vision methods, including neural implicit representations and advanced meshing techniques.
  • Partner with platform teams to support scalable and efficient algorithm deployment.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in computer vision, computational geometry, or 3D-focused software engineering.
  • Master’s or Ph.D. in computer science, applied mathematics, or a related field specializing in 3D vision or geometric processing.
  • Strong proficiency in modern C++ and Python.
  • Strong foundation in 3D geometry, linear algebra, rigid body transformations, quaternions, and projective geometry.
  • Deep experience with point cloud algorithms such as ICP, GICP, RANSAC, NDT, and region growing, plus spatial data structures including k-d trees, octrees, and voxel grids.
  • Hands-on experience with PCL, Open3D, Eigen, or Ceres, and familiarity with PCD, PLY, E57, or LAS data formats.

Nice to have

  • Experience with Ceres, GTSAM, or g2o for bundle adjustment or pose graph optimization.
  • Background in SLAM or Structure from Motion pipelines.
  • Experience processing LiDAR, RGB-D, or photogrammetry datasets.
  • Familiarity with Linux and Docker.
  • Exposure to ROS and knowledge of survey-grade accuracy or georeferencing algorithms.
