Senior ML Engineer - 3D Reconstruction (Autonomous Vehicles)

Location: Remote within the United States or Ann Arbor, Michigan

Salary: $177,300–$212,800 USD annually, plus bonus and stock options.

What you will do

• Design, implement, test, and deploy offline 3D reconstruction, lane-line detection, and automated mapping modules.
• Build machine learning pipelines for sensor-data annotation, map creation, pose estimation, localization, and sensor fusion.
• Develop ingestion, preparation, curation, governance, and quality measurement workflows for large multi-modal datasets.
• Establish standards for machine learning models, deployment, analytics, and operational processes.
• Lead projects, align technical solutions across teams, and guide less experienced engineers.
• Evaluate emerging AI and ML advances to improve productivity, quality, and operational reliability.

Requirements

• 6+ years of relevant experience with a bachelor's degree, or 3+ years with a master's degree, in computer science, robotics, electrical engineering, or a related field.
• Experience with lane-line annotation or automatic mapping and familiarity with lane-line detection and mapping models.
• Experience with pose estimation, active learning, pseudo-labeling, computer vision, deep learning, and model training.
• At least two of 2D/3D object detection, tracking, sensor fusion, semantic segmentation, SLAM, or BEV.
• Experience with MLOps, ML frameworks, experiment tracking, model registries, MLflow or Weights & Biases, and model evaluation.
• Proficiency in Python, PyTorch or related distributed ML frameworks, Parquet data processing, Docker, CI systems, and cloud or VDI development environments.

Nice to have

• PPK/RTK GPS experience.
• GIS experience.
