Confluent Staff Technical Program Manager (TPM)

Location: Remote within the United States.

Salary: $161,000–$299,000 per year.

What you will do

• Lead end-to-end delivery of large-scale technical programs, including FedRAMP, compliance readiness, and platform architecture changes.
• Translate business goals into technical requirements and explain architectural trade-offs to senior and executive stakeholders.
• Establish milestones, KPIs, risk mitigation plans, and status reporting for predictable delivery.
• Partner with Engineering and Product leadership on roadmaps, dependencies, prioritization, and resource allocation.
• Facilitate decisions across distributed teams and manage relationships with internal and external partners.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in Technical Program Management, preferably in cloud-native or large-scale software environments.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure, and SaaS platform engineering.
• Experience collaborating across Engineering, Product, Finance, and Security organizations.
• Ability to identify risks early, resolve complex dependencies, and operate effectively in ambiguous, fast-paced environments.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Confluent Platform or Apache Kafka.
• Experience creating dashboards and reports with JQL, SQL, BigQuery, or Data Studio.
• Background in SRE, Platform Engineering, or Infrastructure organizations.
• Master’s degree.
