Engineering Manager (Python)

Location: Hybrid, with in-office days at the Hayward, California headquarters; candidates must have existing US work authorization.

Salary: $170,000–$200,000 annually, plus an annual performance bonus.

What you will do

• Lead software initiatives hands-on, contributing to architecture and code.
• Design and build data-driven systems, RESTful APIs, microservices, and complex web applications.
• Own the full software lifecycle from design and development through deployment, monitoring, and production performance.
• Set standards for maintainable, unit-tested, high-quality software.
• Expand AI-assisted development workflows and improve engineering effectiveness.
• Mentor a distributed engineering team and partner across departments to align technical decisions with business and patient outcomes.

Requirements

• 8+ years of software engineering experience, including 5+ years of hands-on Python development.
• Strong relational database experience with MySQL and experience designing RESTful APIs and microservices architectures.
• Deep familiarity with regulated environments and standards including PCI DSS, ISO 27001, HIPAA, and NIST.
• Experience managing distributed engineering teams and working with Atlassian tools and Agile development.
• Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience.
• Existing US work authorization is required; visa sponsorship, employment authorization transfers, and immigration-related support are not available.
