Vice President, Deputy General Counsel

Location: Remote

Salary: $252,900–$303,450 annually, plus bonus eligibility based on individual and company performance.

What you will do

• Advise executive leadership and the Board of Managers on enterprise risk, governance, compliance, technology transformation, and strategic initiatives.
• Lead the redesign of legal operations, including alternative legal service providers, outside counsel management, budgeting, resource allocation, and lower-cost delivery models.
• Support corporate governance, board materials, subsidiary and intercompany structures, ownership transitions, mergers, acquisitions, restructurings, and corporate financings.
• Lead data governance, privacy, data remediation, information governance, incident response, and privacy-by-design initiatives.
• Guide AI integration, responsible AI policies, AI security, and emerging technology governance in partnership with business and technical stakeholders.
• Lead employment, labor, regulatory, ESG, crisis communications, and workforce compliance initiatives while managing and developing legal and privacy teams.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school and active membership in at least one U.S. state bar.
• 12+ years of progressively responsible legal experience, including law firm and significant in-house experience, with 10+ years in leadership.
• Experience designing and managing technology-enabled legal operations, alternative legal service provider models, and outside counsel cost optimization.
• Expertise in corporate governance, board support, global privacy, employment and labor law, data governance, artificial intelligence governance, mergers and acquisitions, corporate financings, and subsidiary management.
• Demonstrated ability to lead legal transformation, organizational change, cross-functional initiatives, and measurable cost and operational improvements.
• Exceptional judgment, business acumen, strategic thinking, communication skills, executive presence, and ability to balance legal risk with business objectives.

• Experience in organizations undergoing transformation, growth, restructuring, or operating in regulated, cost-disciplined, technology-leveraged industries.
• Public company, SEC, private company, privacy transformation, crisis communications, reputation management, or ESG experience.
