TL;DR
Vice President & General Manager, Bird-Johnson Propeller Company (Manufacturing Operations): Overseeing and improving naval propulsion manufacturing, aftermarket services, and field operations with an accent on strategic growth, profitability, quality, and operational excellence. Focus on leading large-scale manufacturing, owning P&L performance, managing risk and compliance, and developing a workforce of approximately 250 employees.

Location: Onsite in Walpole, Massachusetts, with accountability for the Pascagoula, Mississippi site and regional field service teams; US citizenship required.

Salary: $193,946–$306,560 per year

What you will do

  • Set and execute strategic initiatives for original equipment and aftermarket business lines.
  • Own full P&L performance, budgeting, forecasting, cost control, resource allocation, and operational reporting.
  • Lead manufacturing, engineering, quality, maintenance, supply chain, human resources, and logistics functions.
  • Drive production efficiency, lean improvement, quality, safety, profitability, and regulatory compliance.
  • Manage relationships with customers, suppliers, senior stakeholders, and Sales and Marketing teams.
  • Lead and develop directors, managers, and a workforce of approximately 250 employees.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, manufacturing, operations management, or a related field.
  • 10–15 years of manufacturing operations management experience, including at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, supply chain management, lean manufacturing, and large-scale operational leadership.
  • Experience managing budgets, forecasts, P&L statements, data analysis, and operational improvement technology.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment and visit all areas of the manufacturing plant.
  • US citizenship required.

Nice to have

  • MBA or another advanced degree.
  • Experience with ISO and Six Sigma quality standards.
