TL;DR
Principal Consultant - Telecom (Telecom/ICT, Structured Cabling, Low Voltage): Leading complex, multi-discipline telecommunications design and delivery projects with an accent on technical quality, coordination, documentation, and client advisory. Focus on making high-impact engineering decisions, identifying project risks, mentoring designers and engineers, and improving standards and workflows.
Location: Remote within the United States; occasional travel to client sites and construction environments is required. Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States. Visa sponsorship is not available.
Salary: $145,000–$180,000 per year, with potential performance-based bonuses.

What you will do
- Lead telecom and discipline-specific design, coordination, documentation, and QA/QC for complex multi-stakeholder projects.
- Serve as a project lead when assigned, monitoring scope, schedules, financial performance, risks, and delivery health.
- Advise clients, participate in coordination meetings and pursuits, and contribute to proposals, interviews, and technical narratives.
- Document design decisions, client-specific processes, scope clarifications, and deviations using project tools and the Design Decision Log.
- Improve standards, templates, tools, and workflows through documentation updates and GitHub pull requests.
- Mentor designers, engineers, and production staff through design reviews, markups, coaching, and structured feedback.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably Electrical, Architecture, or equivalent technical experience.
- 8+ years of experience in AEC or related professional services with strong telecom, ICT, structured cabling, or low-voltage expertise.
- Ability to lead discipline-specific work on complex projects with minimal oversight and make sound technical decisions.
- Strong understanding of project delivery, client expectations, documentation standards, coordination, and QA/QC workflows.
- Proficiency with Autodesk AutoCAD and Revit, Bluebeam Studio, Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, and GitHub.
- Must be eligible to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.
Nice to have
- RCDD or CDT certification.
- EIT, PE, CCNA, or PMP certification.
