Oncology Pathology Assistant

Location: Remote within the United States

Salary: $115,000–$140,000 USD per year

What you will do

• Interpret oncology pathology reports and clinical notes to identify appropriate specimens when initial FFPE blocks or slides are insufficient.
• Curate clinical history, diagnoses, progress notes, and specimen information in the sample database.
• Develop data-stratification and retrieval strategies across relevant databases.
• Organize diagnostic data according to applicable WHO guidelines and identify suboptimal collection timepoints or fixative conditions.
• Advise the Laboratory Director and cross-functional teams on pathology reports, specimen procurement, and testing requirements.
• Support clinical trial data transfer and collaborate with referring pathology laboratories.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher with ASCP certification or equivalent board certification.
• At least 10 years of experience in anatomic pathology.
• Extensive knowledge of solid tumor pathology, including lung, colon, and breast cancers.
• Ability to identify diagnostic samples suitable for successful testing.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills with internal teams and referring pathology laboratories.
• Detail-oriented, independent, and able to assess the broader significance of clinical information.
