Manager, Software Engineering - Platform Services (SaaS)

Location: Onsite in the Calgary office, Canada

Salary: $160,000 CAD per year or $76.92 CAD per hour

What you will do

• Lead delivery and engineering execution for the Platform Services group.
• Own platform features supporting planning, budgeting, reporting, and financial data management.
• Drive architectural consistency for shared financial data models and configurable platform capabilities.
• Lead migrations using parallel schemas, feature flags, phased cutovers, and other safe deployment strategies.
• Manage, mentor, and coach software engineers while supporting technical growth and high performance.
• Plan, prioritize, and improve delivery, incident response, release readiness, and cross-functional collaboration.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, business administration, commerce, or engineering is usually required.
• At least 8 years of professional software engineering experience, including experience leading engineering teams in a SaaS environment.
• Strong SQL and relational database experience, particularly with financial, reporting, or ERP systems.
• Experience designing APIs, integration solutions, data import/export processes, background processing, and event-driven architectures.
• Experience with observability, monitoring, production support, and multi-tenant SaaS platforms.
• Experience with configurable data models, metadata-driven architectures, AI-assisted development tools, and Agile delivery practices.
