Location: Remote in Canada; must be able to work within EST/EDT or PST hours.

Salary: CAD 196,000–273,000 annual base salary, excluding bonus, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Lead the Promise engineering team across frontend, backend, data science, and machine learning.
• Own the roadmap and end-to-end delivery in partnership with Product, Sales, Customer Success, and Support.
• Set technical direction through architecture reviews, code reviews, and AI-native engineering practices.
• Maintain a high quality bar through short, hypothesis-driven development cycles.
• Hire, develop, and manage engineers, including Staff-level and above talent, while setting product-aligned OKRs.

Requirements

• 8+ years of core engineering experience, including experience as a Staff Engineer and 3+ years managing engineering teams in high-growth startups.
• Deep backend and/or data science expertise, with experience leading full-stack and machine learning teams.
• Hands-on experience using AI tools, agent harnesses, loop engineering, and agentic workflows to improve productivity and the software development lifecycle.
• Experience with a major cloud platform; GCP is preferred.
• Experience building consumer-facing products where usability and conversion are important.
• Must be located in Canada and able to work EST/EDT or PST hours.
