Manager, Software Development (AI)

Location: Montreal, Canada; hybrid with 2 set in-office collaboration days per week

AlayaCare is a growing SaaS company building cloud-based technology for home and community healthcare providers.

What you will do

• Hire, coach, retain, and develop software engineers while fostering ownership, accountability, inclusion, and continuous learning.
• Own the software delivery lifecycle from technical design through deployment and operations.
• Lead engineering standards, technical decisions, quality ownership, testing, safe rollouts, and production reliability.
• Make AI-first development the default across specification, implementation, testing, code review, documentation, and investigation.
• Define and execute the team roadmap with Product Managers, balancing customer features with refactoring, resilience, performance, upgrades, and test automation.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, Staff+ Engineering, Customer Success, Support, and other stakeholders on technical decisions and complex customer challenges.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or advanced degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related field.
• 7+ years of hands-on software development experience and 3+ years of technical people management experience.
• Experience building large-scale iOS and/or Android applications and working with multi-tenant SaaS environments.
• Strong knowledge of AI-assisted development, contemporary software practices, and Scrum/Agile delivery.
• Technical experience with Python, PHP, Vue, and AWS is valued.
• Experience in healthcare, home health, or medical devices is an asset; French and English bilingualism is also an asset.
