Software Development Manager (Platform Engineering)

Salary: $140,000 – $205,700 CAD

What you will do

• Lead, mentor, and support the growth of a high-performing Platform/DevOps engineering team.
• Own delivery for business applications, including roadmap execution, release planning, and risk management.
• Operate and evolve Kubernetes/EKS environments across multi-AZ and multi-region architectures.
• Drive GitOps and CI/CD best practices using tools such as Argo CD, Flux, GitHub Actions, and Jenkins.
• Develop paved roads and reusable developer workflows using Terraform and AWS CDK.
• Improve observability, security, and cloud cost efficiency across AWS ecosystems.

Requirements

• Must be based in or authorized to work in Toronto, Canada
• 3+ years of people leadership experience managing and developing engineers.
• 7+ years of engineering experience in cloud infrastructure, DevOps, or platform engineering.
• Strong experience with AWS services (EKS, EC2, VPC, S3, RDS, DynamoDB, Lambda).
• Expertise in Kubernetes operations, Helm, and GitOps workflows.
• Programming proficiency in Python, Java, TypeScript, or Node.js.

Nice to have

• Experience building Internal Developer Platforms and self-service workflows.
• Familiarity with service meshes, policy engines, and secrets management.
• Experience with event-driven architectures (Kafka, Kinesis, SNS, SQS).
• Knowledge of SOX, SOC2 compliance frameworks, and FinOps practices.
