What you will do

• Define end-to-end architecture for Azure data platforms using Databricks, Data Factory, ADLS Gen2, Delta Lake, Synapse, and Power BI.
• Design scalable lakehouse, medallion, ingestion, transformation, data mart, reporting, and analytics architectures.
• Define London Market Insurance data models covering policies, claims, premiums, brokers, bordereaux, delegated authority, reinsurance, exposures, and regulatory reporting.
• Establish standards for data quality, reconciliation, metadata, lineage, auditability, governance, security, and access control.
• Support cloud migration, data warehouse modernisation, legacy decommissioning, CI/CD, monitoring, and operational support architecture.
• Review technical designs and guide data engineers while collaborating with architecture, security, DevOps, business, and client stakeholders.

Requirements

• Senior experience as a Data Architect or Senior Data Architect.
• Strong hands-on experience with Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory, ADLS Gen2, Delta Lake, and lakehouse architecture.
• Excellent knowledge of dimensional, canonical, and enterprise data modelling, ETL/ELT pipelines, data warehouses, data lakes, data marts, and semantic layers.
• Good understanding of PySpark, Spark SQL, Python, and SQL.
• Experience with data governance, metadata, lineage, catalogues, privacy controls, data quality, reconciliation, audit, and exception handling.
• Experience with Azure security, CI/CD, and DevOps practices, plus the ability to lead architecture discussions with senior stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Experience with Lloyd’s Market operations, specialty or commercial insurance, or the London Market Insurance operating model.
• Exposure to broker, carrier, managing agent, syndicate, underwriting, claims, policy administration, accounting, bordereaux, delegated authority, binder, coverholder, reinsurance, or Blueprint Two data initiatives.
