What you will do

• Define enterprise data architecture, target-state designs, roadmaps, standards, and architectural patterns.
• Own the Databricks Lakehouse architecture, including workspace design, Unity Catalog, medallion architecture, and environment strategy.
• Design secure and scalable data-sharing integrations with clients and third parties using Delta Sharing, APIs, event streaming, and managed file transfer.
• Lead Master Data Management, data modelling, governance, lineage, cataloguing, classification, and access-control practices.
• Optimise Databricks performance and cost through compute, cluster, Delta table, caching, and workload-sizing strategies.
• Enable AI and machine learning use cases through feature engineering, model data pipelines, vector search, and governed enterprise-data access.

Requirements

• Deep hands-on experience with Databricks, including Unity Catalog, Delta Lake, workflows, and platform administration.
• Experience designing external data-sharing integrations and Master Data Management solutions.
• Strong data modelling expertise across dimensional, 3NF, Data Vault, or similar approaches.
• Solid knowledge of Azure storage, networking, identity, data governance, data quality, metadata, and lineage tooling.
• Strong SQL skills and working knowledge of Python and/or Spark.
• Knowledge of encryption, RBAC/ABAC, data masking, GDPR, data residency, and the ability to communicate architectural decisions to technical and executive audiences.
