Senior Product Designer (Mortgage)

Location: San Francisco, California, United States; expected to work from a hirify.global office at least 3 days per week. A relocation stipend may be available for candidates willing to relocate to a hirify.global hub location.

Salary: $169,000–$199,000 USD base salary or on-target earnings range for San Francisco, CA.

What you will do

• Own product design for borrower, lender, and internal operational experiences from discovery through launch and iteration.
• Partner with Product and Engineering to define problems, shape roadmaps, and deliver solutions aligned with user and business needs.
• Simplify verification requests, document collection, consent and authorization, status visibility, and exception-handling workflows.
• Use AI-assisted design and development tools to prototype, validate, and implement lightweight UI improvements when appropriate.
• Conduct research, analyze product data, create responsive web and platform designs, and produce specifications and assets for Engineering.
• Facilitate workshops and design reviews while collaborating with Customer Success, Sales, Compliance, Legal, Data, and Operations.

Requirements

• 5–8+ years of product design experience or equivalent, with a strong record of shipping high-quality work.
• Portfolio demonstrating end-to-end product thinking, measurable impact, iteration, and effective collaboration.
• Experience simplifying complex domains and designing workflows where edge cases, trust, and clarity matter.
• Strong product judgment and the ability to balance user needs, business goals, technical constraints, and timelines.
• Ability to independently conduct lightweight research, including interviews, usability testing, and concept validation.
• Strong attention to interaction patterns, content clarity, information hierarchy, and accessibility best practices.

Nice to have

• Experience in fintech, lending, mortgage, identity, compliance-heavy, or other regulated domains.
• Experience designing B2B or B2B2C products for operations teams or external partners.
• Familiarity with design systems, documentation, scalable components, secure data, consent, and privacy-focused experiences.
