Data, Technology and IP Attorney - Assistant Vice President / Vice President (AI)

Location: Salt Lake City, Utah, United States; office-based Monday through Thursday with remote work available on Friday.

Salary: $150,000–$190,000 base salary, plus equity and an annual performance bonus.

What you will do

• Draft and review complex technology-driven client engagement agreements, vendor contracts, non-disclosure agreements, and other legal documents.
• Develop standardized client documentation and improve contract efficiency through contract lifecycle management solutions.
• Lead AI governance initiatives, including monitoring global AI regulations and partnering with practice and engineering teams on generative AI tools.
• Build legal prompt frameworks, redesign operational processes, and assess AI outputs for bias, security vulnerabilities, and IP infringement.
• Advise Sales, Partnerships, Technology, Product, Regulatory Compliance, and other business functions on commercial and corporate matters.
• Support strategic corporate development initiatives, supervise outside counsel, and conduct legal research.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of relevant experience at a top-tier law firm, in-house at a technology or financial services firm, or in a related industry.
• Active membership in good standing of the New York Bar or another state or jurisdiction is required.
• Practical understanding of machine learning architecture, cloud infrastructure, APIs, and technology platforms.
• Strong interpersonal, leadership, organizational, and detail-oriented skills with the ability to maintain a broad business perspective.
• Ability to learn new topics, assess nuanced risks, and provide clear, actionable legal advice in an evolving environment.
• High level of integrity and sound judgment.
