System and Subsystem HIL Integration Engineer (Automotive)

Location: Warren, Michigan, United States. Hybrid work policy: 3 days in the office and 2 days remote; must be able to report to the local office.

What you will do

• Design, implement, and test novel Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) bench solutions, simulations, and instrumentation for new vehicle features and technologies.
• Develop test configurations and real-time HIL simulation models in Matlab and Simulink in collaboration with bench users.
• Adapt and integrate chassis, active safety, electrification, and propulsion system controllers and plant models with HIL benches.
• Develop vehicle dynamics simulation models using tools such as CarSim, VeDyna, or ASM-VD, and integrate them with other plant models.
• Develop instrumentation and simulation solutions for ECU sensors and actuators, including HIL test automation and scripting.
• Define bench and test property requirements, perform electrical design integration and verification, and train and support lab users.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronic, Computer, or Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• At least two years of experience as a Software Engineer or in a related occupation.
• At least two years of experience with HIL systems for real-time control development and Matlab/Simulink modeling.
• At least two years of experience troubleshooting vehicle and bench electrical systems.
• Experience with CAN vehicle communication systems and CAN-based monitoring tools, including Vector and Intrepid.
• Experience with electrical testing and development and vehicle electrical architecture.
