Customs Manager (International Trade)

Location: On-site in San Diego, California, United States, with remote work available up to two days per week. Domestic and international travel may be required. Access to controlled technology requires prior legal authorization under U.S. export regulations.

Salary: $110,250–$165,375 base annual salary.

What you will do

• Develop, implement, and govern global customs strategy with a focus on U.S. customs compliance.
• Monitor customs laws and assess their impact on business operations and strategic initiatives.
• Advise leaders and partner with finance, legal, compliance, and other functions on customs matters.
• Maintain and improve customs policies, procedures, governance, and control frameworks.
• Lead or support business improvement projects as the customs subject matter expert.
• Represent hirify.global in customs audits, rulings, agreements, and regulatory discussions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in business, international trade, supply chain management, law, finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• At least 8 years of experience in customs compliance, international trade, or related regulatory disciplines.
• Experience managing customs compliance programs in the United States.
• Experience leading customs initiatives in a complex, matrixed organization.
• Ability to influence stakeholders, assess risk, communicate clearly, and drive compliance across functions.
• Legal authorization to access controlled technology before starting work is required.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in a related field.
• Licensed Customs Broker certification.
• Experience in the semiconductor, technology, manufacturing, or machinery industries.
